·Working a rotation of 22 days on 8 days off, with great flexibility, in a remote region of the Amazon. Room and board will be provided.
·Responsibility for the well-being and safe functioning of all lodge property, infrastructure and inventory
·Providing the highest quality operation standard for the four main areas of the lodge – fluvial transportation, food service, housekeeping/lodging and maintenance.
·Scheduling, coaching and supervision of 20+ lodge staff, including being an integral part of hiring, firing, disciplinary actions and the creation and enforcement of staff policies
·Creating quarterly work-plans for the lodge’s administrative team including the Logistics Supervisor, Restaurant and Housekeeping Supervisor, Kitchen Supervisor and the Assistant Manager
·Annual and quarterly planning and budgeting in coordination with the Operations Director of Me to We, Ecuador and the Ecuador Country Director
·Working with contractors and suppliers to ensure the continued functioning and potential expansion of the lodge
·Liaising with our Amazon Program Managerand the Assistant Manager to coordinate the arrival of youth and adult groups to the Amazon, ensuring all special dietary, rooming configurations and other expectations are being met
·Ensuring compliance with the laws that regulate the lodge’s operation and obtaining all of the required permits
·Sharing the responsibility of holding the 24 hour emergency phone and thus being the first point of contact in assessing minor risk management and customer service cases
·Championing our organizational culture and embodying the core values of Me to We and WE Charity
·Work closely with WE Charity team to assist with the coordination and delivery of materials for project construction
·Representing Me To We with a high level of professionalism, passion and dedication
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a tourist facility and a staff of 10+ people
·Studies in Hospitality and Tourism or similar
·English & Spanish fluency
·A passion for being organized and the ability to systematize operations
·Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Office software
·Ability to build strong and professional relationships with both those that work within the organization and other companies we work closely with
·Experience working with youth in some capacity (group leading, teaching)
·Strong customer service skills, ability to work professionally with adults and organizational stakeholders
·Driver’s license an asset, but not required
·Ability to adapt to new responsibilities as protocol and role evolves
·Flexibility in working long hours, weekends and holidays
