Type of Appointment: Full-Time, ProbationaryCollective Bargaining Unit: California State University Employees Union – Unit 9Job Classification: Administrative Analyst/ SpecialistAnticipated Hiring Amount:$3,379 - $4,831 per monthWork Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pmTHE DEPARTMENTThe Center for Community Engagement (CCE) is a support unit within the Office of Academic Innovation, Division of Academic Affairs, The CCE coordinates four programs: Community Engaged-Learning, Academic Internships, Cooperative Education and Civic Engagement & Volunteer Service. The CCE advances the educational mission of Cal Poly Pomona to cultivate student success "through a diverse culture of experiential learning, discovery, and innovation" by curating opportunities for students to engage in experiential learning, discovery and innovation. Specifically, the CCE's mission is to develop a culture of meaningful engagement in the spirit of "learn by doing" through sustainable partnerships between community and industry and the university, faculty, staff, and students. It provides the university and community with a broad range of resources and support, including class and community presentations, training workshops, conferences, one-on-one assistance, mini-grants, and a resource library.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate, under the general direction of the Lead Coordinator, the administrative aspects of the CCE's engaged learning programs, including Service Learning and Curricular Community Engaged Learning.Make recommendations to the Lead Coordinator for budget allocations for engaged learning initiatives. Participate in the planning and development of programmatic goals related to engaged learning opportunities on campus and within the CSU.Coordinate CCE's Faculty Fellows Program, which is composed of faculty who are developing new and/or enhancing existing engaged learning courses. Coordinate mini-grant engaged learning program for faculty. Coordinate application and selection process for awarding grant money to engaged faculty for research, teaching, conferences, travel and/or projects.In partnership with the Faculty Associate, developed a faculty newsletter and engaged in learning workshops focused on community partnership development, risk management, and developing learning outcomes.Develop and implement a plan to expand engaged learning opportunities to include all interested campus departments, identifying metrics for data collection and risk management by academic units.Provide information on programs and resources related to engaged learning, and inform faculty businesses/organizations, and students of CPP protocols.Serve as main point of contact on campus for students, organizations, faculty, staff, and campus partners regarding engaged learning inquiries.Coordinate, under general direction, community partner relations. Match community partners with faculty, manage risk management agreements, assess existing partnerships and the impact of engaged learning on community partners and student learning, analyze results, and recommend changes to the CCE Lead Coordinator.Implement risk management policies for CCE-engaged learning opportunities, including required site visits, liability waivers, and student consent forms; update risk management forms in an accessible format as necessary, and store all risk management forms in an electronic format.Obtain signatures on engaged learning placement site agreements and maintain a database of agreements for validity and expiration.Increase campus-wide awareness of engaged learning opportunities and conduct workshops and information sessions for faculty, students, and industry partners.Develop and implement a plan to expand the number of engaged learning opportunities and document the growth of available opportunities.Correspond with program stakeholders as appropriate, oversee filing, databases, and records and documentation for accurate and concise reports and documents. Develop and maintain working files, engaged learning designated class files, risk management files, and databases and generate reports as necessary;Coordinate engaged learning sections of the BroncoSERV database and website in collaboration with CCE and CPP staff along with CSU technical support advisors (BroncoSERV is Cal Poly Pomona's portion of the California State University's - S-4 community engagement database project)Develop an assessment plan for engaged learning opportunities, implement, evaluate, and report data outcomes publicly to CCE partners. Evaluate current campus-wide engaged learning processes to ensure that all academic departments are aware of EO 1064 and build partnerships with Academic Departments (advisors, Department chairs, faculty) to streamline engaged learning processes.Develop and implement a marketing plan to promote engaged learning programs, create marketing materials (e.g., flyers) to promote opportunities, policies, and procedures, and develop and make available metrics demonstrating success.Maintain and enhance the CCE engaged learning webpages, update webpage with current information, forms, articles, workshop calendar, signature internship opportunities, graphics and links to national partners' websitesContribute to the CCE newsletter, annual report, and other publications as necessary and assist the Lead Coordinator and other CCE staff members as needed regarding the Center's programs, events, and projects.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degreeAND/ORthe equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.Working knowledge of general practices, programs, and/or administrative specialty; basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts; working knowledge of budget policies and procedures; ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty; knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them.Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques; ability to organize and plan work and projects, including handling multiple priorities; ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment; ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; demonstrated ability establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
